Iliotibial band syndrome is a common and often persistent injury that strikes mainmITB syndromeent runners, but also cyclists and more rarely, hikers. The syndrome of BIT causes major painalso on the outer side of the knee.

Marathon runners (and even greater distances), are most likely to develop this syndrome. The roads are often curved in the middle and if people always run on the same side of the street, the leg that is du ratingascending the slope will have a greater chance of developing inflammation of the strip.

We often find this syndrome at the start of the season when athletes increase the training volume too quickly, both in cycling and running.
