FST is a non-painful manual technique that improves mobility and flexibility for a prolonged period. It reduces chronic pain and promotes health and general well-being.
We can imagine the fascia as a spider web of connective tissue that extends throughout the body. The fascia therefore give structure and maintain the human body.
Stress, lack of hydration, physical and emotional trauma, poor posture or sitting for a prolonged period of time as well as repetitive movements are many ways to negatively affect the fascia. A fascial tissue that has lost elasticity generates remote repercussions throughout the body. I.e.: Knee pain that would be due to a blockage in the lower back.
FST is an approach called SYNERGISTIC that is to say, it is complementary and promotes the effectiveness of other techniques such as sports massage, kinesitherapy, chiropractic, osteopathy …
By combining FST to your treatment routine, your usual therapist will notice that it is easier to perform their techniques and results will be longer lasting.
FST is a technique in itself which lasts 60 to 90 minutes to treat the whole body OR which can be integrated into your usual treatment. We recommend wearing shorts / tank top to facilitate tensioning and changes in position. A patient’s active participation (inspiration / expiration and some muscle contractions) is necessary but still allows great relaxation.
There are many benefits of FST. We notice an improvement in:
speed, strength, vertical jump, balance, proprioception, agility, coordination, flexibility, range of motion and mobility, posture, movement, efficiency of warm-ups and recovery in athletes, physical and mental relaxation, reduced pain and muscle tension, etc.
